Privacy
Illiquid stores what it needs to run an ownership network. Public surfaces only show what you have chosen to publish.

What we store
When you create an account we keep:
- your email and authentication mapping
- your profile (display name, handle, optional bio, profile visibility)
- items you add: physical Asset Instances, Ownership periods, photographs, and notes
- identification sessions: photographs, descriptions you type, candidates, observations, and diagnostic traces
- Collections, Wants, and Follows
Photographs are private by default. They are stored so Illiquid can show them to you and, if you publish an item, as the approved public image.
What can be public
A public Profile, public item, or public Collection shows only the approved public projection: identity you chose to publish, canonical object identity where it exists, and allowed item metadata and images.
Publishing an item does not publish:
- what you typed to Illiquid
- identification conversation history
- diagnostic observations, model candidates, prompt versions, or AI logs
- serial numbers unless you make them public
- receipts, notes, exact locations, or custody details
Identification conversations are private to you. That is not a setting.
Identification and AI
Photographs and descriptions you send for identification are processed by Illiquid and by the current identification provider in order to propose an identity. Model output is a hypothesis. It does not become shared canonical knowledge unless you confirm a path that creates a provisional object, and even then that object stays unverified until a person reviews it.
Account closure
There is no self-serve “delete everything” control at launch. If you ask us to close an account, we deactivate it: you cannot sign in, your Profile and items are unpublished, and historical Ownership, Asset Instances, and canonical knowledge are kept. Cascading deletion would destroy other people’s provenance and shared object records. A stronger erasure workflow needs legal review before it is offered in the product.
